Authorities Seek Whereabouts Of Attempted Murder Suspect

Law enforcement officials are seeking information regarding the whereabouts of a Summertown man, wanted for the attempted murder of his wife.

Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that deputies were dispatched to the Railroad Bed Pike home of twenty-seven year old Thomas Brady Richardson, IV, around 9:30 Tuesday night.

Reports show that Richardson had beaten his wife during the evening in the presence of their young son.

Reports indicate that the victim, age 41, had called her father, saying that her husband was armed with a knife and gun, and that he was trying to kill her.

The father quickly alerted authorities and made his way to the home. When he arrived, he said that his grandson, age 4, and daughter were outside. His daughter had sustained numerous serious injuries.

The father told deputies that Richardson had gone back into the house. When they searched the home, deputies were unable to locate him. They determined that he had escaped through a window.

The victim was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She had sustained injuries that include a fractured skull and facial fractures, as well as a possible broken neck.

Deputies were later notified that Richardson had called the hospital. During the conversation he allegedly made threats to come to the hospital and assault his wife once again.

Deputies obtained warrants charging Richardson with the crimes of reckless endangerment and attempted first degree murder.

At the time reports were filed they had been unable to locate him. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the department at 931-762-3626.
